The Allen Dome is a piercement salt dome discovered by Shell Oil Company in 1928 and is located 50 miles south of Houston in Brazoria County, Texas. In August, 2016 Viceroy Petroleum LP assumed operatorship and acquired a 70% Working Interest (W.I) in the Allen Dome field. GEV retains a 30% W.I in this field.
