An international energy professional with 10 years of experience having worked in Operations & Project Management positions across the upstream/midstream sector in Australia, United States and Brazil. Mr Velterop has been with GEV since 2017 and brings a strong passion for business development, operations and new technologies in the energy sector. As Development Director he is responsible for overseeing the advancement of the C-H2 ship approvals, developing technical and commercial partnerships and pursuing business development opportunities in Australia and Europe.
Mr Carolan was appointed Managing Director and CEO in June 2021. Mr Carolan has been involved in GEV since the Company’s inception in 2016, firstly as an advisor, before joining the Board as an Executive Director in 2019, responsible for corporate strategy and finance. More recently Martin has been leading the Company’s hydrogen development strategy and business model. Martin brings extensive capital markets and corporate strategy experience having worked in the Australian capital markets for a number of years.
Norman Marshall holds a Master of Applied Finance. He had 20 years in banking and finance roles, including Head of Institutional Bank, WA for the Commonwealth Bank and a client portfolio including numerous companies in the ASX 100. Norman has also held Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director roles with ASX listed companies including Portman Mining Ltd and Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd. Prior to his appointment as Company Secretary of Global Energy Ventures Ltd, Norman was a consultant to the company on all commercial agreements, including a key role in the Company’s acquisition of the SEA NG Group and the CNG Optimum marine transportation technology in 2017.
Mr Andrew Pickering recently returned to Australia after retiring from a career of 40 years in shipping and logistics across the globe, which included responsibility for the largest global fleet of Chemical tankers for Stolt-Nielsen Limited. Stolt-Nielsen Limited is a listed company with a market capitalisation of circa 1 billion USD (SNI:NO), that provides transportation, storage, and distribution solutions for chemicals and other bulk-liquid products worldwide. The company operates in four segments: Tankers, Tank Containers, Terminals, and Stolt Sea Farm.
More recently, Mr Pickering led the development of an integrated global energy supply business as CEO of Avenir LNG Limited, located in London. Avenir LNG was established as a Joint Venture between Stolt-Nielsen; Golar LNG and Hoegh LNG, before becoming a publicly listed company on the OTC exchange in Norway. Avenir LNG provides LNG supply solutions for off-grid industry, power generation, marine bunkering and the transport industry, including the construction of 6 new small-scale LNG vessels and a LNG terminal. Mr Pickering retired as CEO in late 2019.

Raj Served the United States Government /U.S. Embassy for 18 years Senior Public Affairs advisor working on economic, trade, business bilateral issues and served the Malaysian Minister in his political party heading the education and investment departments.
Raj has been an Executive Director of OKA Motor Company manufacturing multi-terrain trucks for domestic and export sales, Country Manager (based in India) for Australian Energy Equity Corporation Ltd. He worked in the Power sector in four states. Worked with state and federal governments in India, and with major Indian public companies. Raj worked with Mosbacher Oil and Gas Ltd of the United States, negotiating with Indian Government for a gas concession (PY1). Raj also worked with NRG of the USA for the acquisition of power plants in India.
He returned to Australia in 2002 and was appointed as Director of Business Development of LNG Australia Ltd working on gas sales opportunities in India and Sri Lanka. Raj also worked in Indonesia in coal field acquisition for Indian Company GMR Ltd and in Queensland in coal field acquisition for Indian Company Lanco Ltd. He was appointed as Director and later as advisor to Lanco Resources Australia Ltd, owners of the Griffin coal mine in Collie until 2017.
Raj is also Managing Director of Park Medical Group Pty Ltd.
David is regarded as a global expert in marine CNG. He has advised dozens of clients on marine CNG and energy infrastructure assessment and development.
David Bradley holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He has over thirty-five years’ experience in commercial business development and operations of energy infrastructure including natural gas pipelines, mid-stream gas gathering and processing, and CNG operations. Corporate experience includes 20 years in senior management roles within global energy infrastructure companies. He has managed operations and development of energy infrastructure in Australia, U.S., Asia, and Africa.
David is the Managing Director of Gas Transport Solutions Pty Ltd, established in 2002, which provides energy infrastructure development guidance and market analysis. GTS has now advised over 50 clients globally; most of those clients seeking to assess and develop marine CNG solutions.
David is also the Managing Director and part owner of Exmouth Energy, an operating CNG and power generation business in Western Australia. This business includes a CNG bulk haulage operation which fuels a regional power station and is now in its’ 12th year of continuous successful operation.
David is also a non-executive Director on several energy infrastructure and resource company boards, including public and private companies.
Garry Triglavcanin holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and Master of Business Administration. He has over 25 years’ experience in the international energy industry across commercial, technical and legal aspects of project development, negotiation and delivery. Garry spent the past 12 years with ASX listed Liquefied Natural Gas Limited as Group Commercial Manager, developing a range of projects, including the Australian Fisherman’s Landing LNG Project, Magnolia United States LNG Project and the Middle East Qeshm Island LNG Project (as Project Director for 3 years). Garry joined Woodside Petroleum Limited in 2001 as Senior Commercial Advisor, working on a portfolio of renewable energy projects, as well as several merger and acquisition opportunities and strategic reviews until 2004. As Business Development Manager of Energy Equity Corporation Limited from October 1992 to March 2001, Garry was responsible for the assessment and development of energy projects in Australia and Indonesia.
Maurice Brand is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and of the Australian Company Directors Association. He has over 30 years’ experience in the international energy industry having foundered ASX listed Liquefied Natural Gas Limited in 2002 and Energy Equity Corporation Limited in 1985 (now known as ASX listed EWC). He was the driving force behind both Companies as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, with ASX LNG being admitted to the ASX 200 in September 2014 with a market capitalisation of A$2.5 billion. Maurice joins the GEV Board as a major shareholder and a commitment to not hold any other public company Directorships during the next three years.
John Fitzpatrick has over thirty years’ of experience as a structural engineer specializing in the analysis, design, construction and deployment of unusual structures, including several major structures in the oil & gas industry. In addition to his extensive analysis experience, notably in the field of Arctic structures and marine CNG, he has also consulted internationally, performed third party reviews on behalf of the US Minerals Management Services, and been called as an expert witness. As a member of the Canadian Standards Association design standards committee on offshore structures, John Fitzpatrick participated in the development of Canada’s design codes for offshore structures and also in the development of ABS rules and guidelines for CNG Ships.
John Fitzpatrick’s recent focus has been on developing ships to carry CNG. He has participated in the technical development of these ships beginning with Enron International and the Williams companies. John Fitzpatrick continued this development at SeaNG where he was Director of Engineering. After leaving SeaNG in early 2016, John Fitzpatrick continued his efforts to find the optimum ship design for CNG. This work resulted in a new CNG Ship design (patents pending) – the SeaNG Optimum Technology ship.
John Fitzpatrick has an engineering degree from the University of Galway. He has published and presented peer reviewed papers on the topics of offshore structures, ice mechanics and ships.
With over thirty years of experience in the international energy industry, David Stenning has had the opportunity to play leadership roles in engineering, managing and executing challenging projects. He began his career designing and constructing offshore platforms for the Arctic; including the first two Arctic offshore drilling structures. David Stenning subsequently consulted to several energy companies, working on projects for developing offshore oil and gas reserves, primarily in the northern seas.
More recently, David Stenning co-invented and led the development of specialized CNG Ships which compete with LNG ships in regional markets. As Manager of Marine CNG at Enron International he was charged with leading their marine CNG team. This required the development of new ship designs and resolving many technical and regulatory challenges. David Stenning continued this work at the Williams Company as Director of Marine CNG. In 2005, he co-founded SeaNG which acquired the CNG technologies developed at Enron and Williams. As President and COO, David Stenning continued the technical and commercial development and SeaNG became one of the leading companies in marine CNG. David Stenning left SeaNG in the early 2016 and continues to advocate for marine CNG.
David Stenning has published and presented technical and economic papers at many international conferences in the fields of offshore engineering, project management and marine CNG. He has also prepared and presented project and finance reports to investors, regulators and stakeholders. David Stenning holds an engineering degree from the University of British Colombia and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Calgary.
In addition to his role on the GEV Management Team, Roger is also the President and CEO of Houston based Meridian LNG Holdings Corp. and responsible for the development of the proposed Port Meridian terminal for CNG and LNG imports into the UK. Over the last 25 years, Roger Whelan has held senior positions in the energy sector focused on structuring and financing activities for major energy development projects in North America, the UK, Russia, Africa and Trinidad and Tobago. As an established investment banker in London, Roger Whelan was Head of Oil & Gas advisory for Rothschild, Director M&A at HSBC and a sector analyst for Morgan Stanley International. Roger Whelan also held senior in-house business development and management roles at BP Amoco, BG Group and Canadian Superior. Most recently, Roger Whelan was EVP Corporate Development at Canadian Superior, Country Manager for BG Equatorial Guinea and VP LNG and Upstream Supply for BG Trinidad & Tobago.
Roger Whelan has an MBA from the Wharton School, an MSc in Management Science from Imperial College London and a B Eng. and BA Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin.
